The Neighbourhood

Portside Apartments is located in Strathcona, a recently discovered gem in Vancouver. Only 2 blocks away from our Strathcona Apartments, this neighbourhood is a historic part to the city, with buildings over 100 years old. According to The Globe and Mail, "It's a highly walkable, livable area, surrounded by a light industrial zone that has become trendy with tech industries, coffee shops and restaurants. It draws creative types who crave an urban area rife with old buildings."

The location is very central, with a 10 min bus to downtown, and a close walk to Gastown, Chinatown, and downtown.

"Living in this neighbourhood in one of Peter's rental units was awesome. Being in an up and coming neighbourhood, surrounded by great restaurants, walking distance to Gastown, the beach being only minutes away, was perfect. The building is full of like minded people, so it makes living there super comfortable. And laundry in the building is a HUGE plus!"

— Lori, former tenant

"Indeed, there is something truly unique in the way a diversity of people—different ages, incomes, cultures and backgrounds—live together, not just cross paths, but share lives in this community."

— The Vancouver Observer, "Why I love Strathcona"
